LEGENDS & VILLAINS 2: Comic book favorites brought to life by Pinoy artists
After six years, here’s another chance for you to see your favorite comic book superheroes and super-villains in a colorful, creative, and distinctly Pinoy light.
In culmination of Ricco Renzo Gallery‘s 10th anniversary celebration, the art haven has partnered up with SM Supermalls and pop culture site Flipgeeks.com to present an all-new assortment of finely crafted works of art depicting the world’s most beloved comic book characters.
Featuring 35 paintings and sculptures by the country’s top contemporary artists, Legends & Villains 2 focuses on the compelling protagonists and sinister antagonists in modern comic books and graphic novels, greatly inspired by their jump from the printed page to the silver screen.
Legends & Villains 2 will tour five SM Premier Malls, starting on Sept. 13: The Annex in SM City North Edsa (Sept. 13-19), SM Aura Premier in Taguig City (Sept. 20-26), SM Mall of Asia (Sept. 27-Oct. 2), SM Megamall (Oct. 4-10), and The Podium in Mandaluyong City (Oct. 11-19). The touring art exhibit will also showcase a free animation workshop for children facilitated by the artists themselves, as well as picture-taking activities with cosplayers (with the photographs to be uploaded on SM Toy Kingdom’s website).
